12 Halton Residents are Charged With Impaired Driving

Impaired driving remains the top criminal cause of death in Canada, according to Halton police, despite years of awareness campaigns illustrating why driving a vehicle while impaired by alcohol and/or drugs is dangerous.

In an effort to bring more attention to the risk of driving while impaired, assist in identifying witnesses and reduce continued offences, Halton police are reporting the following impaired driving-related incidents across Oakville,Burlington, Milton, and Halton Hills.


Name: Erika Moore, 54, of Burlington

Date/Time: March 20, 2018, shortly after 3:30 p.m.

Location: Halton police responded to a collision near North Shore Blvd. and Shadeland Ave. in Burlington.

Charge:

* Driving while ability impaired


Name: Nicholas White, 52, of Oakville

Date/Time: March 16, 2018, shortly after 9 p.m.

Location: Halton police initiated a traffic stop near the intersection of Lakeshore Rd. W. and Windsor Gate in Oakville.

Charge:

* Impaired driving - over 80 mgs


Name: Tanya Krcmar, 36, of Acton

Date/Time: March 16, 2018, shortly before 11:30 p.m.

Location: Halton police officers responding to an incident went to a parking lot near the intersection of Maple Ave. and Norrington Place in Milton.

Charge:

* Impaired driving - over 80 mgs


Name: Marco Ferreira, 42, of Hamilton

Date/Time: March 17, 2018, shortly after 1 a.m.

Location: Halton police initiated a traffic stop near the intersection of Cooke Blvd. and Plains Rd. E. in Burlington.

Charges:

* Driving while ability impaired

* Impaired driving - over 80 mgs


Name: William Darroch, 45, of Goderich

Date/Time: March 17, 2018, shortly after 1:30 a.m.

Location: Halton police were conducting a mobile R.I.D.E. initiative in the area of Upper Middle Rd. and Winston Park Dr. in Oakville.

Charge:

* Impaired driving - over 80 mgs


Name: Thomas Jones, 36, of Stephensville, New York

Date/Time: March 17, 2018, shortly before 7:30 a.m.

Location: Halton police responded to the area of Hwy. 403 and Dundas St. in Oakville in response to a citizen-initiated traffic complaint.

Charges:

* Driving while ability impaired

* Fail or refuse to provide sample


Name: William Kemp, 62, of Burlington

Date/Time: March 17, 2018, shortly before 4 p.m.

Location: Halton police initiated a traffic stop near the intersection of Townsend Ave. and Falcon Blvd. in Burlington.

Charge:

* Impaired driving - over 80 mgs


Name: Joseph Ferreira-Small, 29, of Milton

Date/Time: March 17, 2018, shortly before 4:30 p.m.

Location: Halton police officers were conducting a mobile R.I.D.E. initiative in the area of Main St. E. and Thompson Rd. in Milton.

Charges:

* Driving while ability impaired

* Impaired driving - over 80 mgs


Name: Aleem Raymond, 41, of Milton

Date/Time: March 17, 2018, shortly before 8 p.m.

Location: Halton police responded to the area of Main St. E. and Thompson Rd. S. in Milton in response to a citizen-initiated traffic complaint.

Charges:

* Impaired driving - over 80 mgs

Date/Time: March 17, 2018, shortly after 9:30 p.m.

Location: Halton police initiated a traffic stop near the intersection of Speers Rd. and Dorval Dr. in Oakville.

Name: James Cosson, 41, of Georgetown

Date/Time: March 18, 2018, shortly after 12 a.m.

Location: Halton police responded to the area of Niagara Trail and Argyll Rd. in Halton Hills in response to a citizen-initiated traffic complaint.

* Impaired driving - over 80 mgs


Name: Elliott Boliska, 57, of Burlington

Date/Time: March 18, 2018, shortly after 12:30 a.m.

Location: Halton police were conducting a mobile R.I.D.E. initiative in the area of Upper Middle Rd. and Hwy. 407 in Burlington.

* Impaired driving - over 80 mgs


Name: Andrew Catania, 29, of Burlington

Date/Time: March 18, 2018, shortly after 12:30 a.m.

Location: Halton police initiated a traffic stop near the intersection of Appleby Line and Sheraton Rd. in Burlington.

* Driving while ability impaired

* Impaired driving - over 80 mgs

Date/Time: March 18, 2018, shortly after 3 a.m.

Location: Halton police were conducting a mobile R.I.D.E. initiative in the area of Upper Middle Rd. E. and Grosvenor St. in Oakville.

Date/Time: March 18, 2018, shortly after 3:30 a.m.

Location: Halton police initiated a traffic stop near the intersection of Dundas St. W. and Sixth Line in Oakville.

* Fail or refuse to provide sample


Name: Jason Andrew, 33, of Brampton

Date/Time: March 18, 2018, shortly before 4:30 a.m.

Location: Halton police initiated a traffic stop near the intersection of Prince Michael Dr. and Dundas St. E. in Oakville.

* Fail or refuse to provide sample


Name: Joseph Tole, 33, of Burlington

Date/Time: March 19, 2018, shortly after 1:30 a.m.

Location: Halton police responded to the area of Lakeshore Rd. and Kenwood Ave. in Burlington in response to a citizen-initiated traffic complaint.

Charges:

* Driving while ability impaired

* Impaired driving - over 80 mgs


Officers remain committed to road safety through prevention, education and enforcement initiatives, police say.

Members of the public are reminded that driving under the influence of drugs and/or alcohol is a crime in progress and to call 911 immediately to report a suspected impaired driver.
