16 year old arrested after string of carjackings in Brampton and Oakville

Peel police have arrested one youth and are searching for another suspect of multiple recent carjackings in Brampton and Oakville.

The three incidents occurred on Wednesday, April 22. Around 12:15 p.m., the suspects reportedly placed an order with a food delivery service.

“They lured the victim to the area of Mountainberry Road and Snowcap Road in Brampton,” police said.

“When the victim arrived at the delivery location, the suspects confronted the victim while armed with a knife and made a demand for the victim’s vehicle.”

The victim complied and the suspects fled the area, police say.

At 4:55 p.m., the suspects placed another order for food delivery to an address on Nature Court in Brampton, and again robbed the victim of his vehicle at knifepoint, according to police.

At 8:00 p.m., another vehicle was taken at knifepoint in the area of Hidden Trail Circle in Oakville.

“Two of the three vehicles involved are still outstanding and are listed as stolen,” said police.

On Friday, April 24, a 16 year old Brampton resident was arrested and charged with robbery (three counts) and possession of stolen property.

The suspect’s identity is protected under the Youth Criminal Justice Act.

The second suspect is described as a black male, 5’8″, 22 or 23 years old, clean-shaven, with a thin build. He was seen wearing a black hoodie, black mask, and black pants.
