4 Halton Residents Charged With Impaired Driving

Despite years of awareness campaigns illustrating why driving a vehicle while impaired by alcohol and/or drugs is dangerous, impaired driving remains the top criminal cause of death in Canada, according to Halton police.

In an effort to bring more attention to the risk of driving while impaired, assist in identifying witnesses and reduce continued offences, Halton police are reporting the following impaired driving-related incidents across Oakville, Burlington, Milton, and Halton Hills:

Name: Adrian Reynolds, 51, of Mississauga

Date/Time: Feb. 1, 2018, shortly after 11:30 p.m.

Location: Halton police officers initiated a mobile RIDE program in the area of Cornwall and Maple Grove roads in Oakville.

Charges:

* Driving while ability impaired

* Impaired driving - over 80 mgs


Name: Anthony Machado, 20, of Mississauga

Date/Time: Feb. 2, 2018, shortly before 2 a.m.

Location: Halton police officers initiated a traffic stop near the intersection of Guelph and Louisa streets in Halton Hills.

Charge:

* Impaired driving - over 80 mgs


Name: Rakesh Gadi, 58, of Caledon

Date/Time: Feb. 1, 2018, shortly after 7 a.m.

Location: Halton police officers responded to a collision in the area Derry Rd. and Ontario St. in Milton.

Charges:

* Driving while ability impaired

* Impaired driving - over 80 mgs


Name: Andrew Johnston, 30, of Oakville

Date/Time: Jan. 30, 2018, shortly before 9 p.m.

Location: Halton police officers responded to a collision in the area of Dorval Dr. and North Service Rd. in Oakville.

Charge:

* Impaired driving - over 80 mgs


Name: Evan Leblanc, 71, of Mississauga

Date/Time: Jan. 29, 2018, shortly before 10 p.m.

Location: Halton police officers responded to the area of Bronte Rd. and Ridgeside Lane in Oakville in response to a citizen-initiated traffic complaint.

Charge:

* Fail or refuse to provide sample


Name: Thomas Kadai, 36, of Oakville

Date/Time: Jan. 26, 2018, shortly after 11:30 p.m.

Location: Halton police officers were conducting a mobile RIDE initiative in the area of Kerr St. and Speers Rd. in Oakville.

Charge:

* Impaired driving - over 80 mgs


Name: Timothy Baker, 61, of Campbellville

Date/Time: Jan. 27, 2018, at 10:30 a.m. during a traffic stop.

Location: Halton police officers initiated a traffic stop near the intersection of Twiss and Campbellville roads in Milton.

Charge:

* Impaired driving - over 80 mgs


Name: Yousef Al Qshat, 41, of Etobicoke

Date/Time: Jan. 28, 2018 shortly before 2 a.m. during a traffic stop.

Location: Halton police officers initiated a traffic stop near the intersection of Upper Middle Rd. and Winston Park Dr. in Oakville.

Charge:

* Fail or refuse to provide sample


Name: Jack Allan Eagles, 26, of Milton

Date/Time: Jan. 28, 2018 shortly before 2 a.m .

Location: Halton police officers responded to the area of Main and Bronte streets in Milton in response to a citizen-initiated traffic complaint.

Charges:

* Driving while impaired

* Impaired driving - over 80 mgs


Name: Corey Jordan Jeffrey, 23, of Hamilton, and Charles Small, 26, of Hamilton

Date/Time: Jan. 28, 2018, at 3:25 p.m.

Location: Halton police officers responded to a collision in the area of Old Lakeshore Rd. and Lakeshore Rd. in Burlington. The driver and passenger in the vehicle are accused of trading places following the crash.

Charges:

* Driving while ability impaired

* Impaired driving - over 80 mgs


Officers remain committed to road safety through prevention, education and enforcement initiatives, police say.

Members of the public are reminded that driving under the influence of drugs and/or alcohol is a crime in progress and to call 911 immediately to report a suspected impaired driver.
