The OPP show the cannabis plants found on truck in Burlington.

More than 400 illegal potted cannabis plants have been seized following a routine traffic stop in Burlington.

According to the Ontario Provincial Police, officers were called to the scene at the QEW near Walkers Line on May 6 following an inspection check of a truck by the Ontario Ministry of Transportation (MTO).

When the vehicle was pulled over the MTO discovered the plants and called the Burlington Detachment of the OPP for backup.

Officers who arrived at the scene were surprised to see such a large load of neatly organized plants and posted pictures to OPP social media pages.

In total, 416 cannabis plants were in the truck and have since been confiscated.

A 59-year-old Markham man is now facing a drug trafficking charge in connection with this case.

His name has not been released.
