The Halton Region might be one of the most expensive regions in the GTA, but some properties are still selling for less than half a million dollars.

Zoocasa, a real estate website and brokerage, recently released a list of five properties that changed hands for less than $500,000 in a region where the average price point hit $1,267,636 (all property types combined) in March 2023.

According to data recently released by the Toronto Regional Real Estate Board (TRREB), prices in the region (and in the GTA overall) are slowly inching up after declining for several months in the last few months of 2022, with prices increasing 3.73 per cent in Halton month-over-month.

There are also more Halton homes hitting the market, with 1,089 new listings in the region in March–up 25.17 per cent from the 870 new listings that entered the market in February.

As for what homes are selling, detached houses and condos are the most popular home types. Zoocasa said 383 detached homes traded hands at an average price of $1,650,063. Regarding condos, 132 properties were sold, with the average price hitting $676,412.
