This Lakeshore Rd. restobar has an enviable view across from Spencer Smith Park, paired with a modern, upscale atmosphere. Their menu - created by Chef Zee - offers everything from calamari to chorizo sausage and shrimp puff pastry to Moroccan spiced duck breast. Table 34's charcuterie board, or Mezza Plate, is superb. It features westphalian ham, Csabi sausage, provolone, gherkins, smoked almonds, grapes, cherry tomatoes, baba ghanouj, and bread. In other words, a perfect share platter!
The dress code is casual, however, the food is anything but. The Butternut Squash tastes Incredible (hold up, grammar nerds — that’s an intentional capital 'I'). It features sundried tomatoes in an oh-so-creamy sage-gorgonzola sauce that is unbelievably satisfying. Then there's the Paradiso Burger. The house-made patty is flavoured and tastes incredible as-is. One bite in, and I’m in burger paradise. This thick patty is topped with smoked cheddar, house-made ketchup and sweet pickles, smoked honey dijon mustard, then served with herb roasted mini red potatoes. Finally, their Crab Cakes are the absolute best! Impressing Oakville diners for 20 years (there's also a Burlington location on Pine St.) you’ve gotta make a reservation and get your eat on!
Easily one of the best restaurants in Ontario.- and even Canada, Oliver's offers a phenomenal fine dining experience and is going strong after four decades. The menu features the best of the best: USDA Prime steaks, fresh seafood, and an extensive wine list. This is some next-level fine dining, minus the white tablecloths ... even the ice cream is made in-house! You'll find amazing service without the pretentious aura. The menu features high-quality ingredients, while the staff's attention to detail and presentation is simply on point. The resto seats 120, complete with a private area that can be separated into two rooms for parties. With dim lighting, the beautifully designed restaurant is accented with gorgeous chandeliers, art, a mix of wood and rich tones, plus the wine cellar (if you didn't know, Oliver’s wine list earned the prestigious New York’s Wine Spectator Award of Excellence for five years running). The experience is downright unforgettable.
The Mye Japanese restaurants are the best two Japanese restaurants in Oakville. Interestingly enough, the Mye brand has been around for close to 30 years. This is definitely more of fine dining option when it comes to Japanese food without breaking the bank. Mye 2 is located in a plaza on Trafalgar and Dundas and the interior is modern, open and very well lit so you can see the incredible food you are eating. We had the seven course-tasting menu that came with a little bit of everything. It started with sasuke, sunomono salad, sashimi, sushi, tempura and steak. Every single dish was mouth wateringly delicious at $49. We were there for lunch and they made it special for us, as it’s not on the lunch menu.
The food offerings here are Oakville-calibre … straight up. This beautiful, historic building used to be home to the Thompson House Hotel back in 1864. La Toscana owner Tony De Gaetano opened up in 1998 and has been serving up a little slice of Italy since, with incredibly fresh seafood, entrees, appetizers, and desserts. La Toscana is well-known for the oyster and martini bar. The atmosphere is equal parts cozy and sophisticated, while the dining experience is pure elegance. Calamari is grilled to perfection, served alongside tomatoes, black olives, garlic, and capers. Arctic char is a great pick from the grill, with lemon, potatoes, and carrots. The Spaghetti Bolognese blends house-made veal and beef sauce. It tastes fantastic, although this pasta isn’t made in-house (but the linguine is). There’s a great selection from Italy on the wine list. And for your post-main indulgence, three desserts are made in-house: tiramisu, creme brulee, and spumone, or espresso-flavoured ice cream drizzled in chocolate sauce. Service is superb — ask about the original door when you go!
