Here are five spas just outside of the city.

5) Elmwood Spa

Located in downtown Toronto, Elmwood is known to some as an urban oasis. This day spa has the works – a steam room, a pool, lunch restaurants, mani/pedis, massages, body treatments, and even aboriginal healing rituals for your mind, body, and spirit. They’ve got pretty much any service you’d want at a spa, right smack in the middle of Toronto. Make it part of an exciting day in the city, or just relax all day at the spa.

4) Scandinave Spa

Okay, we had to include this one, even though it’s a little further from the city. It’s about an hour and 45 minutes to Scandinave at Blue Mountain, but it’s so worth the drive. You’ll want to book their services early, because they get busy quickly. The spa is located on 25 acres of natural Ontario birch, Canadian maple and pine trees, and offers a Scandinavian bath experience of hydrotherapy. They’ve also got different kinds of massages, including a Swedish massage, a sports massage, a hot stone massage, and even one for pregnant women.

3) SpaZen

Another Toronto spa, this one is small and quaint, offering a range of massages, mani/pedis, and even a hot tub. If you’re looking for a simple spa, SpaZen is your spot. Located in the Hotel Cosmopolitan, SpaZen has a very relaxation-inducing atmosphere, inspired by Japanese gardens. They have five private rooms and guests are invited to hang out in their jacuzzi after the spa experience. They also usually have great deals on Groupon, so be sure to search for their latest ones before you go! Click here for one they have now.
