6 Halton Residents Charged With Impaired Driving

In an effort to bring more attention to the risk of driving while impaired, assist in identifying witnesses and reduce continued offences, Halton police are reporting the following impaired driving-related incidents across Oakville, Burlington, Milton, and Halton Hills.


Name: Arthur Grobelny, 49, of Milton

Date/Time: Feb. 7, 2018, shortly after 4:30 p.m.

Location: Halton police officers responded to a parking lot in the area of Trafalgar Rd. and Leighland Ave. in Oakville in response to a citizen-initiated traffic complaint.

Charges:

* Driving while ability impaired

* Driving over 80 mgs


Name: Simon Gair, 35, of Burlington

Date/Time: Feb. 6, 2018, shortly before 11 p.m.

Location: Halton police officers were conducting a mobile RIDE initiative in the area of Upper Middle Rd. and the Hwy. 407 overpass in Burlington.

Charge:

* Driving over 80 mgs


Name: Neil Jairam, 29, of Oakville

Date/Time: Feb. 5, 2018, shortly after 2:30 p.m.

Location: Halton police officers on patrol came across a collision in the area of North Service Rd. and Dorval Dr. in Oakville.

Charge:

* Driving while ability impaired


Name: Jacqueline Blaya, 63, of Burlington

Date/Time: Feb. 2, 2018, shortly after 3 p.m.

Location: Halton police officers responded to a collision in a parking lot near Upper Middle Rd. and Walkers Line in Burlington.

Charge:

* Driving over 80 mgs


Name: Dragutin Radovic, 75, of Brampton

Date/Time: Feb. 2, 2018, shortly after 6 p.m.

Location: Halton police officers responded to the area of Mountainview Rd. and Guelph Street in Halton Hills in response to a citizen-initiated traffic complaint.

Charge:

* Driving over 80 mgs


Name: Ashira Saluja, 24, of Georgetown

Date/Time: Feb. 3, 2018, shortly before 3 a.m.

Location: Halton police officers initiated a traffic stop near the intersection of Argyll Rd. and Barber Dr. in Halton Hills.

Charge:

* Driving over 80 mgs


Name: Amandeep Kaur Singh, 37, of Milton

Date/Time: Feb. 3, 2018, shortly after 1:30 p.m.

Location: Halton police officers initiated a traffic stop near the intersection of Chambers Place St. and Lancaster Blvd. in Milton.

Charge:

* Driving over 80 mgs


Name: Sanvir Bhullar, 22, of Maple

Date/Time: Feb. 3, 2018, shortly after 5 p.m.

Location: Halton police officers responded to the area of Hwy. 401 and Regional Road 25 in Milton in response to a citizen-initiated traffic complaint.

Charge:

* Driving while ability impaired


Name: Harjodh Singh, 42, of Brampton

Date/Time: Feb. 3, 2018, shortly before 10:30 p.m.

Location: Halton police officers responded to the area of Inglis Dr. and Purdy Dr. in Milton in response to a citizen-initiated traffic complaint.

Charges:

* Care or control while impaired

* Care or control over 80 mgs


Name: Anatoli Pessotski, 49, of Mississauga

Date/Time: Feb. 3, 2018, shortly before 10:30 p.m.

Location: Halton police officers responded to a collision in the area of Eighth Line and Steeles Ave. in Milton.

Charges:

* Driving while ability impaired

* Fail/refuse to provide breath sample.


Name: Nicola Ziccardi, 34, of St. Catharines

Date/Time: Feb. 4, 2018, shortly after 12:30 a.m.

Location: Halton police officers responded to a parking lot in the area of Martindale Ave. and Upper Middle Rd. in Oakville in response to a citizen-initiated traffic complaint.

Charge:

* Driving while ability impaired


Impaired driving remains the top criminal cause of death in Canada, according to Halton police, despite years of awareness campaigns illustrating why driving a vehicle while impaired by alcohol and/or drugs is dangerous.

Officers remain committed to road safety through prevention, education and enforcement initiatives, police say.

Members of the public are reminded that driving under the influence of drugs and/or alcohol is a crime in progress and to call 911 immediately to report a suspected impaired driver.
