7 More Halton Residents are Charged With Impaired Driving

Impaired driving remains the top criminal cause of death in Canada, according to Halton police, despite years of awareness campaigns illustrating why driving a vehicle while impaired by alcohol and/or drugs is dangerous.

In an effort to bring more attention to the risk of driving while impaired, assist in identifying witnesses and reduce continued offences, Halton police are reporting the following impaired driving-related incidents across Oakville, Burlington, Milton, and Halton Hills:


Name: Angele Kazlauskas, 82, of Oakville

Date/Time: May 31, 2018, shortly before 8 p.m.

Location: Halton police responded to a citizen-initiated complaint near the intersection of Third Line and Tansley Dr. in Oakville.

Charges:

* Driving while ability impaired

* Impaired driving - over 80 mgs


Name: Sandra Brockbank, 59, of Georgetown

Date/Time: May 31, 2018, shortly before 11 p.m.

Location: Halton police responded to a collision near the intersection of Barber Dr. and Eaton St. in Halton Hills.

Charge:

* Impaired driving - over 80 mgs


Name: Maria Otero, 54, of Oakville

Date/Time: June 1, 2018, shortly before 2 a.m.

Location: Halton police officers initiated a traffic stop near Bronte Rd. and Dundas St. in Oakville.

Charge:

* Driving while ability impaired

* Impaired driving - over 80 mgs


Name: Daniel Gonzalez, 31, of Mississauga

Date/Time: May 28, 2018, shortly before 4:30 p.m.

Location: Halton police responded to a citizen-initiated complaint near Derry Rd. and Regional Road 25 in Milton.

Charges:

* Driving while ability impaired

* Fail or refuse to provide sample


Name: John Madden, 25, of Thunder Bay

Date/Time: May 28, 2018, shortly before 8 p.m.

Location: Halton police initiated a traffic stop near Brant St. and Upper Middle Rd. in Burlington.

Charge:

* Impaired driving - over 80 mgs


Name: Veronica Scarella, 35, of Oakville

Date/Time: May 25, 2018, shortly after 7 p.m.

Location: Halton police responded to a collision near the intersection of Appleby Line and North Service Rd. in Burlington.

Charge:

* Impaired driving - over 80 mgs


Name: Andrea Doria, 60, of Oakville

Date/Time: May 26, 2018, shortly after 12:30 a.m.

Location: Halton police were conducting a mobile R.I.D.E. initiative near the intersection of Cornwall Rd. and Chartwell Rd. in Oakville.

Charge:

* Impaired driving - over 80 mgs


Name: Dwight John, 49, of Brampton

Date/Time: May 26, 2018, shortly after 3 p.m.

Location: Halton police officers responded to a collision near Hwy. 401 and Guelph Line in Milton.

Charges:

* Driving while ability impaired

* Impaired driving - over 80 mgs


Name: Brent Olsen, 38, of Burlington

Date/Time: May 26, 2018, shortly before 10 p.m.

Location: Halton police responded to a citizen-initiated complaint near Brant St. and Prospect St. in Burlington.

Charge:

* Impaired driving - over 80 mgs


Name: Gurinder Singh, 43, of Stoney Creek

Date/Time: May 27, 2018, shortly after 5:30 p.m.

Location: Halton police initiated a traffic stop near Ninth Line and Upper Middle Rd. in Oakville.

Charge:

* Impaired driving - over 80 mgs


Name: Jodi Wilson, 44, of Milton

Date/Time: May 28, 2018, shortly after 12 a.m.

Location: Halton police responded to a citizen-initiated complaint near Britannia Rd. and James Snow Pkwy. in Milton.

Charge:

* Impaired driving - over 80 mgs


Officers remain committed to road safety through prevention, education and enforcement initiatives, police say.

Members of the public are reminded that driving under the influence of drugs and/or alcohol is a crime in progress and to call 911 immediately to report a suspected impaired driver.
