The town of Halton Hills is already home to many incredible parks, but residents and visitors may be excited to read that another one will soon be added to the list.

A new park – West Branch Park – is opening in the town of Halton Hills on Thursday, July 25, 2019.

And, a celebration is being held by the town.

“Residents are invited to attend a celebration on Thursday, July 25 from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at West Branch Drive Park, 55 West Branch Drive, Georgetown,” reads a press release from the town. “Hosted by the town of Halton Hills, the event includes an interactive percussion experience, complimentary ice cream, fitness demonstrations, lawn games, a scavenger hunt and a guided nature walk.”

Halton Hills Mayor Rick Bonnette expressed his excitement about the park and explained what exactly it will provide its visitors with.

“I’m excited to welcome residents to this beautiful park, and enjoy the day’s festivities: the free ice cream couldn’t be more welcome in this heat”, Mayor Bonnette said in a statement. “The park provides a variety of opportunities to be active; climbing on the playground, shooting hoops on the court, running in the field, biking on the trails or exercising on the fitness equipment. These amenities further demonstrate our commitment to increasing physical activity opportunities to support a healthy lifestyle for all ages.”
