It’s no secret that summertime is the best time to check out outdoor festivals, and it’s always exciting when a big event pops up in Halton. So if you love summer, food, live music, and truly unique experiences, you’re in luck – a one-of-a-kind festival is happening soon in Milton!

On Saturday June 16 at 4 p.m., you can kick off summer at Woodbine Entertainment’s 2018 Pepsi North America Cup.

The action-packed, family-friendly festivities are happening at Mohawk Racetrack on Guelph Line in Milton.

For just $11.30, taxes included, you can snag a ticket to what’s sure to be one of the most entertaining events of the summer, complete with access to a beer garden, live performances, and of course, the $1 million dollar Pepsi North America Cup race.

This high-stakes, premier event is the only one of its kind in North America.

“There’s nothing like it – you can get up close to the horses in a social, entertaining environment,” said Tina Robert, senior marketing manager, Woodbine Entertainment. “And it’s one of the top standardbred races in North America.”

It’s true that this live racing experience is going to be unique – you can literally get right up close to the track to watch the world class race, featuring top notch horses and drivers.

But no event is complete without a range of delicious food and some epic live music!

If you love street food you’ll be excited to know that there are guaranteed to be several food trucks at this event, so gear up to relax, chat with your friends and family, and grab a bite.

Feel like a sit-down dinner? Woodbine’s got you covered with two open-air restaurants where each dish is crafted from scratch.

Make a reservation at the Terrace Trackside Buffet for the evening, where you can enjoy a country buffet with a panoramic view of the track. Here, you can expect a chef’s buffet complete with sizzling prime rib, mouthwatering pan-seared fish and seafood, crisp garden salads and seasonal roasted vegetables, a ton of decadent desserts, and more.

Or, you can lounge on the Mohawk Harvest Kitchen patio, a casual extension to the terrace dining room, complete with specialty cocktails, beer, wine, and spirits, and a selection of light pub-style favourites, and everything is locally grown, locally sourced, and sustainable. Choose a flatbread, enjoy some fish and chips, snack on a cheese board, or even indulge in sticky toffee pudding – no judgement here.

You’ll be jamming out and enjoying live performances by Buck Twenty for the night, as the incredible duo Mike Ure and Aidan Johnson-Bujold take the stage between races. They’ve been featured on Canadian Country Radio, and they’re set to bring a ton of energy and a fun vibe to the entire event.

Hosting the event are Nathan Dales and K Trev Wilson from the acclaimed Comedy Network series Letterkenny, so you’re likely to giggle your way through the night, too!

“It’s the kind of event you’d go to with a bunch of your friends or family, grab a few beers, enjoy something from a food truck, and go check out the race,” said Robert.

Eat, drink, chat, and be merry as you watch quality athletes race to the finish line at the 2018 Pepsi North America Cup. You’re guaranteed a good time and a truly one-of-a-kind experience that you can’t get anywhere else.
