In an inhalton article from March of this year, it was noted that a pet hotel may be coming to the town of Oakville.

The town previously received an application for a for pet hotel, however, that’s not all the application would permit if approved.

If approved, the application would also permit a pet training and pet daycare facility.

The proposed location of the hotel, training facility, and daycare facility is 240 Leighland Ave., – Oakville Place.

The facility would be located at the PetSmart – which, as noted in another previous inhalton article, is expected to open sometime this year – on the second storey of the shopping centre. The space in question was formerly occupied by Sears.

However, the town has recently (May 27) revealed that council has passed a zoning by-law amendment that would permit the pet training and the pet daycare facility.

But an overnight boarding facility (a pet hotel) would not be permitted.

“Council has fully considered all the written and oral submissions relating to this matter and that those comments have been appropriately addressed,” reads a recent press release from the town.

However, if anyone is opposed to the training and daycare facility there is still time to weigh in.

The last day to file a notice of appeal pertaining to the application is June 17, 2019.

We will provide updates as they become available.
