Air Canada postponing all direct flights to China

Air Canada has announced it will be postponing flights to mainland China until the end of February.

In accordance with the Government of Canada’s Advisory to avoid non-essential travel to China, Air Canada will be postponing flights to Beijing and Shanghai as of tomorrow, January 30. After tomorrow, all flights will be postponed until after February 29, 2020. 

The last flights to Beijing and Shanghai will be departing today, January 29, and return trips will be tomorrow, January 30.

Customers affected by the changes in service will be notified and offered options, including travel on other carriers where available, or a full refund.

Additionally, according to a news release: “Air Canada will continue to monitor this evolving situation closely in consultation with the Public Health Agency of Canada, Transport Canada and Global Affairs and will adjust its schedule as appropriate.”
