A new mural by Toronto artist Vivian Rosas vividly captures the history of the Aldershot area.

Located on the side of Fitness Firm at 15 Plains Rd. W., the hanging mural captures the ever-changing landscape of Plains Rd., the local history with Dairy Queen and the mix of business, shopping, cycling and general enjoyment of the community, according to the Aldershot Village Business Improvement Area.

The piece was sponsored by Ward 1 councillor Kelvin Galbraith, the Aldershot Village BIA and a I HeART Main Street Challenge grant.

“Through I HeART Main Street, a program that supports BIAs across Ontario to celebrate local culture, foster vibrant spaces, and support main street recovery through public art initiatives and paid artist opportunities, we’re excited to partner with Aldershot Village BIA to transform an underutilized space into a giant canvas for new artwork that the local community can enjoy for years to come,” said Galbraith.
