It’s not too late to register for an ‘Amazing Race’ style fundraising event to build a hospice in the Milton/Halton Hills area.

The HerQuest for Hospice Race brings teams of women together in a fun and competitive environment.

Teams consisting of four women will compete in challenges scattered around the Town of Milton.

These fun and exciting challenges will test their physical capacity, intellectual competence, and ability to work together as a team.

A clue will be given to each team at the beginning of the race leading them on foot to the first challenge.

Upon completing the challenge as quickly as possible, a new clue will be given directing each team to the next location until all 15 challenges are completed.

There are two levels of racing format this year, the full, 15-station competitive or the half, seven-station non-competitive.

The Townsend Smith Foundation is a charitable organization working to build north Halton’s first hospice.

The foundation has secured a property for the first residential hospice at Trafalgar Rd. and 5 Side Rd., where the Hillcrest United Church currently stands in Halton Hills.

“We are excited for what comes next in the process of bringing the hospice into a reality. We are continuing to raise funds through events and generous donors, and bringing awareness to the need for a hospice in our community,” said a spokesperson for the organization.
