Amazon Set to Hire Over 4,000 Workers in Milton and Surrounding Cities

Are you looking to make a little extra money this holiday season?

If so, you might be very happy to hear that e-commerce giant Amazon–which has been making headlines in the GTA for quite some time now–is looking to fill over 4,000 positions at various fulfillment centres across the region.

“This week, Amazon will start hiring for more than 4,000 full-time, part-time and seasonal roles for its customer fulfillment centres and delivery facilities in the Greater Toronto area,” Amazon said in a news release.

“Candidates can walk-in, apply and receive a job offer on-the-spot at a hiring event. Amazon expects to make hundreds of on-the-spot job offers.”

Job seekers might also be happy to hear that they’ll be making a little more than they might have expected.

Amazon Fulfillment Center

Amazon says it provides employees with competitive pay, benefits, a group RRSP plan, and company stock. 

“Part-time employees receive competitive wages, flexible schedules and comprehensive benefits, including life and disability insurance, dental and vision insurance with premiums paid in full by Amazon, and funding towards medical insurance,” Amazon says.

Amazon’s customer fulfillment associates can also take advantage of its Career Choice program, which pays 95 percent of the cost of tuition to pursue continuing education courses in in-demand fields, regardless of whether the skills are relevant to a career at Amazon.
