Arrest made after alleged robbery attempt in Milton: Police

Halton police say a man is facing charges in connection with an attempted robbery at a Money Mart location in Milton.

Halton police say a man is facing charges in connection with an attempted robbery at a Money Mart location in Milton.

Police allege that at approximately 7:30 pm on Tuesday, Sept. 1, 2020, a lone male entered the Money Mart and lifted his shirt to reveal a handgun in his waistline before demanding cash from an employee.

According to police, the employee activated the panic alarm and the suspect fled the scene without any cash.

Officers located and arrested the accused a short distance away.

The handgun was discovered to be a plastic toy gun, police say. 

Police say 23-year-old Scarborough man Micah Davis has been charged with robbery with a firearm and possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose

The accused was held for a bail hearing in Milton.
