Arrest Made In Milton Fraud Investigation

The police made an arrest in connection with the ‘Forget Me Not Family Fun Fair’ fraud investigation.

In the summer of 2013, the death of a Milton toddler prompted the community to run a charity event called ‘Forget Me Not Family Fun Fair.’ The fair took place in Milton in 2013 and 2014. Following a public complaint in 2018, the Halton Regional Police Service Regional Fraud Unit began an investigation in these fairs.

One of the event organizers, Rose Passarelli, 38, was arrested and charged with fraud over $5000, fraud under $5000 and theft under $5000. The arrest and charge was made on April 10.
The accused will be appearing in Milton Court on May 14, 2019.
The ‘Forget Me Not Family Fun Fair’ attracted more than 1,400 people and raised several thousand dollars for two children’s charities. Due to the success of the fair, the organizers continued in 2014. They raised thousands of dollars, attracted hundreds of people and received significant media attention in that year.
