Arrests made after masked men rob Burlington LCBO

The Halton Regional Police Service (HRPS) arrested four males in connection to the theft of alcohol from an LCBO in Burlington on March 25.
The Halton Regional Police Service (HRPS) arrested four males in connection to the theft of alcohol from an LCBO in Burlington on March 25.
According to police, three males entered the LCBO on Appleby Line just before 4 p.m. wearing bandanas over their faces while carrying “cloth style” shopping bags.
The masked males proceeded to load their bags with various bottles of alcohol, said police; while a fourth male was waiting outside the store in a blue Dodge Caravan.
Police say the vehicle then fled the area once the other males exited the LCBO.

Witnesses at the LCBO provided a description of the Dodge Caravan and licence plate to police, allowing officers to stop the vehicle and arrest all four males.
Police added that they were arrested without incident.
The following individuals have been charged with one count of Theft under $5000:
- Tristan Bird (18 years) of Toronto
- Ivan Bird (47 years) of Toronto
- Miguel Soto (39 years) of St. Catharines
- Michael Moore (39 years) of Toronto
All parties were released on a promise to appear.
While the LCBO has remained open during the COVID-19 pandemic, Halton Police offered security suggestions for businesses and commercial properties that have temporarily closed:
- Remove valuables from storefront displays
- Keep the interior, front, and rear entrances well lit
- Keep some lighting on inside for surveillance opportunities
- Remove valuables such as cash from the till and leave open. Place the cash tray in plain view
- Ensure the contact is up to date on any alarm monitoring system
- Clearly post signage on the door/window to indicate:
- Premise is monitored by alarm company;
- That no money is kept on premises; and
- Contact information for the police and business owner in the event a member of the public observes damage to property or suspicious activity
- Consider installing a surveillance camera system that can be monitored online
- Consider installing laminate on windows and glass doors to increase glass integrity from blunt force
- Ensure all doors are properly secured
The HRPS is also be conducting targeted and proactive patrols of businesses that have closed to ensure they are secure.
Police are also urging managers of construction sites that may be closing to take measures to ensure the security of their sites and tools. Tools on vacant construction sites are a popular target for thieves and should be removed when possible, said HRPS.
