Arrests made in Oakville break and enter while family was in basement: Halton Police

Halton Regional Police have made arrests after an alleged break and enter at an Oakville home.

Halton Regional Police have made arrests after an alleged break and enter at an Oakville home.

Just before 8:30 p.m. on Sunday (March 15), police responded to a “break and enter in progress” while the family residing in the home were reportedly in the basement.

Police say two males forced their way into the home through a window.

“The two males had rummaged through several rooms of the house before fleeing the residence on foot,” said Halton Police before searching the area for suspects with the assistance of the K9 Unit. 

“At 8:41 p.m. the two suspects were located hiding in a ravine area near the residence and were arrested.”

Andres Roncancio (31) of Colombia

  • Break and Enter
  • Disguise with Intent
  • Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5000

Wilmer Fonseca (33) of Colombia

  • Break and Enter
  • Disguise with Intent
  • Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5000

​Both parties have been held in custody pending a bail hearing.
