Art exhibition that celebrates Black History Month now on display in Milton

In celebration of Black History Month, an art exhibition showcasing art from Black artists in the community is now on display in Milton.
From now until Mar. 4, the exhibition will be on display at the FirstOntario Arts Centre Milton where guests will be able to appreciate artwork by Désiré Betty, Omar Hopkinson and the Association of Nigerian Community in Milton.
Betty is an Ontario-based multi-disciplinary artist and her work is mainly focused on figurative art with complimentary abstract pieces.
Hopkinson is known for painting on multiple surfaces including canvases, walls and structures. He was also the lead artist for a mural display in the Spice O’ Life parkette at the corner of Charles and Main St.
The Association of Nigerian Community in Milton (ANCiM) is involved in multiple community activities for children, some of which inspire them to express themselves through the arts.
The gallery is open Tuesday to Thursday from 12:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Fridays from 12:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., Saturdays from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. and Sundays from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.
