Big Changes Planned for These Highways in Halton

Some highways in Halton, and across Ontario in general, will be seeing some pretty big changes.
The Ontario government recently announced that it will be investing a large sum of money to rebuild and restore highways across the province.
Exactly how much money?
According to a press release, $1.3 billion.

This funding will go towards a slew of projects that are expected to help the province a few different ways.
“These projects will create jobs for Ontario’s construction industry and keep our highways safe and reliable so that Ontario has a transportation network that encourages job creation, investment and trade in every region across the province,” reads another release.
Bryan Hocking, Chief Operating Officer, Ontario Road Builders’ Association (ORBA), further expanded on this.
“ORBA members build virtually all of the provincial and municipal roads, bridges and transportation infrastructure across the province and the road building sector directly employs in excess of 30,000 workers at peak season,” Hocking said in the release. “The announcement today [March 27, 2019] helps us continue our work with the government on connecting and enhancing the productivity of communities, alleviating congestion, and enhancing the safety of everyone who uses Ontario’s transportation infrastructure.”
The recent announced confirms the government’s plans to move forward with 123 rehabilitation projects across the province.
It was noted, more specifically, that the government will be investing $512 million to rebuild and restore 20 highway projects in central Ontario.
A few of these projects include phase two of the QEW North Shore Boulevard project (Burlington), the 401 Kilbride Creek and Sixteen Mile Creek project (Milton), phase 4B of the Hwy 401/403/410 interchange eastbound express project (Mississauga), and the 410 Courtneypark Drive to Queen Street project (Brampton).
