A young driver in Burlington learned the hard way that it’s not a good idea to give someone the finger…especially a cop.
An incident yesterday (Aug. 9) in the area of Orchard Rd. and Pathfinder Dr. confirmed the lesson when an unmarked police car was being tailgated by another vehicle.
According to Halton Regional Police, the impatient tailgater decided to pass the police car and while doing so the officer says the driver proceeded to acknowledge him with a rude hand gesture.
The result was the 20-year-old driver was fined for following too close, having an improper muffler, and creating excessive noise. The fines amount to $330.
Police don’t release the names of those charged in traffic cases.
“This is the driving we receive complaints about,” police said. “Hopefully this young driver changes attitude.”
