Blue Jays World Series Rings Returned After 23 Years
A 1992 Toronto Blue Jays World Series Championship ring - and a Jays anniversary ring belonging to a former player - have been returned to its owner after being stolen from a Mississauga home 23 years ago.
No charges are being laid, said Peel Regional Police Const. Const. Iryna Yashnyk.
The rings went missing on Wednesday, Apr. 13, 1994, between 10 a.m. and 1:30 p.m., from a home near Mississauga Rd. and Hwy. 403.
Jewelry and other items, including an authentic personalized 1992 Blue Jays World Series Championship ring, along with an Anniversary Blue Jays ring belonging to a former Jays executive, went missing.
Investigators from 11 Division's criminal investigation bureau were tipped off on Oct. 11 about the stolen items being sold online.
As a result of the investigation, the rings were recovered and returned to the rightful owner.
