A body found along the Oakville and Mississauga border is believed to be that of a man reported missing earlier this month.

Sources say police believe the body that was discovered in a ravine near Ford Dr. and Royal Windsor Dr. on Tuesday is Mustafa Toufexief of Oakville. His family has been informed, but they are waiting for the results of a coroner’s investigation to positively confirm his identity.

“Police have braced the family for the news,” a source told “Investigators still want to be 100 per cent sure, but everything seems to fit…unfortunately. It’s very sad.”

The circumstances surrounding the death have not been revealed.

Toufexief, 42, was last seen in that area on July 8 and he was known to frequent southwest Mississauga and may have worked at the nearby Ford Assembly Plant.

Family members went public following Toufexief’s disappearance, sharing his struggles with mental health and his vulnerability.

They also spoke about how the family had to navigate the health system to try to find the help he needed. They said he had gone missing in the past, but not for great lengths of time.
