Brass knuckles, shotgun found during Burlington drug investigation

A raid on a Burlington home has netted police weapons, drugs and drug-selling paraphernalia.

Halton Regional Police say they launched their investigation into a drug trafficking operation in May after watching a suspect ply his trade.

Then, yesterday (July 5), a search warrant was issued for a residence on Martha St. There police found amounts of cocaine, Oxycodone pills, psilocybin, cellphones, weighing scales and packaging. They also found the brass knuckles, shotgun and bullets.

As a result of the investigation, an arrest was made and 26-year-old Darryl Sheppard has been charged with two counts of trafficking cocaine, possession of controlled substances, and possession of a weapon for dangerous purposes.

The person arrested in being held in custody pending a bail hearing.
