Police are looking for four suspects following an early-morning break-and-enter in Oakville last week.

On Wednesday, Feb. 21, at about 2:30 a.m. Halton police were called to southeast Oakville after it was reported four men broke into a residence.

The suspects used a hammer to break the front door glass gaining access to the home where they were confronted by a resident.

The suspects made demands for the vehicle keys, looking specifically for those belonging to the homeowners Mercedes G Wagon. Several vehicle keys were obtained. However, due to vehicle security features, the vehicles were unable to be started causing the suspects to abandon their efforts and flee the scene on foot.

The resident did not sustain any physical injuries. No weapons were observed.

All four suspects are described as black males in their early 20s, wearing dark-coloured clothing and a black facial covering. They were driving a dark compact SUV.

The previous week, on Feb. 14 at about 6 a.m., a similar robbery occurred in northeast Oakville.

Three male suspects forced their way through the front door, and entered a residence, acquiring keys for a Mercedes G Wagon, which was then taken from the garage.

Residents were home at the time of entry, however no interaction between the suspects and residents occurred. No physical injuries sustained and no weapons were observed.

All three suspects were described as male, wearing dark coloured clothing and a facial covering and driving a dark-coloured, mid-sized SUV.

“Given the similarities between the two break and enters, investigators believe the two incidents may be related,” said a police spokesperson.

Anyone with information regarding these investigations is asked to contact the 2 District Criminal Investigations Bureau at 905-825-4777, ext. 2216.
