Bringing Back History to Milton’s Fire Department

The Milton Fire Department has received a generous donation.
According to a recent news release, the department recently received a donation of a 1956 GMC pumper truck from John Grange of Lothlorien Farms.
The pumper truck’s connection to town goes back to 1977 – the official opening of Milton’s first sub fire station in Campbellville.
This first station only included a small office, apparatus room, kitchen, and garage bays for two trucks.

The pumper truck was originally owned by the Milton Fire Department but was purchased by Grange, who planned to use it his farm as a watering truck.
Now, 28 years later, Grange has donated the truck back to the fire department to be refurbished to its original design.
“On behalf of the Milton Fire Department, I would like to thank John Grange for his generous donation of this heritage fire truck,” Fire Chief Dave Pratt, in a recent news release.
“This truck had once been a vital part of Milton’s fire fleet and we hope to restore this historical piece of fire history in the future.”
The goal is to have the truck displayed at local events and parades to showcase and celebrate Milton’s historical firefighting equipment.
