Old, broken and unwanted electronics can be dropped off at an upcoming recycling event in Burlington.

BurlingtonGreen has teamed up once again with the Burlington Repair Cafe and Burlington Centre for what is being termed a “zero waste extravaganza” on Saturday, May 13.

Located in the Burlington Centre parking lot at 777 Guelph Line, you can bring your items that will not only help eliminate clutter from your home, offices or school but also help the environment by keeping these items from landfill sites through the recycling of the material.

Crew members from the ERA (Electronic Recycling Association) will be on-site to accept computer and cell phone electronics, and a series of Terracycle Zero Waste bins will be stationed at the event to accept more unique waste items not currently accepted in Halton Region’s recycling program.

Volunteers from the Burlington Repair Cafe will be on hand as well to help community members with simple repairs to household items to give them a new lease on life.

Since the zero waste days were launched in 2021, the event has diverted 6.5 tonnes of electronic waste from going to landfill.
