Brampton Fire and Emergency Services are on scene for a potentially dangerous leak this morning.

Peel police were called at 8:16 a.m. for a possible ammonia leak at Maple Lodge Farms on Winston Churchill Boulevard, north of Steeles Avenue.

The building has been evacuated and no injuries are reported at this time.

“We are asking anyone within the area of the plant to please remain inside until further notice,” police said.

Halton police are also going door to door and asking residents in the area to shelter in place until further notice.

Steeles is closed from Heritage to Tenth Line and Winston Churchill is closed south of Embleton to the 407. Closures are expected to remain in place for several hours.

Residents are asked to avoid the area.
