Burlington and Milton Among Top 100 Festivals in Ontario
Cue the applause for Burlington.
It’s receiving some legit recognition for its festivals.
Four major events, to be exact.
Festivals and Events Ontario released its Top 100 recipients and among them are some familiar shindigs held each summer: Sound of Music, Canada’s Largest Ribfest, Burlington’s Canada Day Celebration, and the Children’s Festival all made the cut.
Mark your calendars for this year’s jams:
June 9 to June 17: Sound of Music
July 1: Canada Day
Aug. 10: Children’s Festival
Aug. 31 to Sept. 3: Canada’s Largest Ribfest
Milton also made the list with its Downtown Street Festival. This year’s event is taking place on June 2.
Neighbouring cities also made appearances on the list, such as Mississauga’s Carassauga Festival from May 25 to May 27; the Bread and Honey festival in Streetsville on June 1 to June 3; Italfest, which runs Aug. 17 to Aug. 18; MuslimFest on Aug. 31 to Sept. 2.
Brampton represented, big-time, with its array of street parties: CeleBrampton on June 9; Canada Day; the Remembrance Day Parade; the Christmas Tree Lighting on Nov. 16; and the New Year’s Eve bash.
The winners were honoured in Hamilton on March 2.
