Ward praises Joyce for his work in building the Tim Hortons brand to international success, and also calls attention to his charity work.

“Burlington lost a great man and community leader in the passing of Ron Joyce, one of our most celebrated and generous residents,” Ward said.

Joyce was 88 when he passed away peacefully at his Burlington residence.

His charity work includes helping make education more accessible for all Canadians through the Joyce Family Foundation, as well as sending youth from low-income families to summer camps through the Tim Horton’s Children’s Foundation.
