Burlington mayor’s upcoming speaker series to focus on pandemic parenting

Burlington Mayor Marianne Meed Ward’s upcoming Women’s Speaker Series will feature three local mothers on the panel to discuss parenting during the COVID-19 pandemic.
“On this month’s Women of Burlington panel, we’re inviting 3 amazing Burlington moms to talk #PandemicParenting. We want to talk about how we can support one another during this difficult time, figuring out work-life balance, and how the pandemic has impacted women and mothers,” said Meed Ward on Instagram.
Last month, Meed Ward announced that the mayor’s office would be launching a monthly Women’s Speaker Series after the success of her virtual Lunch and Learn that was hosted for International Women’s Day.
“This year, I did something virtual and had some amazing, inspiring women on my show to talk about living through the pandemic because it has hit women harder than other sectors with low-paying jobs and the burden of childcare,” Meed Ward told inhalton.com‘s Khaled Iwamura in an interview.
“People were so inspired with our one-hour service virtual chat,” she said, explaining that it prompted someone to ask whether she could do these sessions more than once per year.
As a result, Meed Ward decided to go ahead with the request and confirmed that the new series will take place on a monthly basis.
The upcoming speaker series on pandemic parenting is set to take place on May 31 at noon.
