Fish and chips are always a favourite at the Black Swan.

One of Burlington’s favourite uptown pubs is finding its way downtown.

The Black Swan Kitchen Pub, which has been serving customers for 14 years at 4040 Palladium Way, is getting ready to open a second local dining spot at 380 Brant St.

The site was formerly Wendel Clark’s Classic Bar & Grill.

“Yes, we are opening soon at our second Burlington location,” confirmed Ann Dewar, Black Swan general manager overseeing the launch of the downtown site. She said the new restaurant is expected to open in mid-June.

The Black Swan is best known for its traditional Britsh pub fares such as roast beef and Yorkshire pudding, fish and chips and more modern flavours like coconut curry chicken, but it also carries a full menu of favourites including several burger varieties, wraps, wings, nachos, poutine and salads.

As well, the pub regularly brings in entertainers and holds themed events and karaoke nights.

“You can expect the same kind of line-up at the downtown location,” said Dewar who also manages the Oakville location. “We listen to our customers and provide the type of entertainment and events that they are interested in.

She added that the Black Swann is in expansion mode and looks to add another pub in the vicinity in the near future. She said the same style and theme will be evident at all locations.

And as for the formula for success so far, Dewar’s explanation is a simple one.

“Our food is great, our staff is phenomenal and we got the extra mile for our customers,” she said.
