Burlington resident wins school board byelection

Burlington resident Robbie Brydon has won the byelection for the Wards 1 and 2 seat on the Halton District School Board.

Brydon won easily with 1,404 votes, or 64 per cent of all ballots cast, double that of the combined votes obtained by the seven other candidates.

Residency in the riding was an issue throughout the campaign, but voters turned to Brydron who lives in the community and has a child attending the school system that he will now be representing.

Brydon works as a researcher at McMaster University.

  • Celina Close – 383 votes
  • Omar Kayed – 108 votes
  • Daniel Warren Oke – 87 votes
  • Michael James Duhacek – 68 votes
  • Ross Montgomery – 49 votes
  • Chris Goff – 48 votes
  • Anthony Alexander Hoyes – 35 votes
