Burlington’s Andrea Grebenc is tossing her name into the ring of candidates seeking the office of Halton Regional Chair in this October’s municipal election.

The former Halton Regional Board Chair and two-term Halton District School Board (HDSB) trustee joins current Halton Regional Chair Gary Carr and former Progressive Conservative politician and Burlington MPP Jane McKenna as the candidates for Halton Region’s top job.

A business owner for over 20 years, Grebenc was elected Trustee in 2014 and 2018 in municipal elections and elected Board Chair for four annual terms (2018-2021).

She is currently in her final year of her second four-year Trustee term with the HDSB.

Grebenc says her core values include transparency, accountability, and continuous improvement.

“The role of Regional Chair requires passion, energy and accessibility to fight for the well-being and interests of Halton Region,” said Grebenc. “ I have demonstrated these assets as a Trustee, Board Chair and entrepreneur.”

Grebenc has lived most of her life in Burlington. She and her husband, who also works in the IT field, have raised  their three children here.

The municipal elections will be held Monday, October 24.
