Bus riders in Burlington face several detours in coming days

Several bus routes in Burlington will be affected as work continues on a busy street in the days ahead.
Route 11, 12 and 51 will be on detour, until May 15 and again from May 26 to 29, due to road resurfacing at the intersection of Upper Middle Rd. at Appleby Line. Weekend detours will start on the Friday at 8 p.m. and end on the Monday at 5 a.m.
Route 11 Detour
When travelling towards the 407 GO, Route 11 will continue on along Appleby Line, turning right on Ironside Dr., left on Imperial Way, and right on Upper Middle Rd. where it will continue on a regular route.
When travelling towards Appleby GO, Route 11 will continue along Upper Middle Rd. , turning left on Imperial Way, right on Ironside Dr., and left on Appleby Line where it will continue on a regular route.
Route 12 Detour
When travelling from Burlington GO, Route 12 will continue on a regular route to Upper Middle Rd., turning left on Heron Way, left on Appleby Line, and then continuing on a regular route.
Route 12 will continue on a regular route when travelling from the Burlington North Smart Centre to Burlington GO.
Route 51 Detour
Route 51 will continue along a regular route along Upper Middle Road, turning left on Imperial Way, right on Ironside Dr., then continuing to Heron Way and back to a regular route.
The following stops will not be in service during the detour:
- Upper Middle at Heron Way, Stop 628
- Appleby at Upper Middle, Stop 893
- Appleby at Upper Middle, Stop 923
- Upper Middle at Imperial, Stop 636
Temporary stops will be placed at the following locations:
- Route 11: Appleby at Ironstone Dr., southeast corner
- Route 12: Heron Way, opposite the existing Route 12 bus stop with the shelter
