Cash and Vehicles Seized in Major Oakville Drug Bust

Two Oakville residents are facing charges in connection with a massive drug trafficking bust in which cash and vehicles were also seized.

Two Oakville residents are facing charges in connection with a massive drug trafficking bust in which cash and vehicles were also seized.

The Halton police street crime unit began investigating last month,.arresting a man and woman on Feb. 15.

They were each found with large quantities of marijuana, investigators allege.

A search warrant was executed at an Oakville home on Friday.

It resulted in the seizure of 75 kilograms of marijuana; $40,000 cash; a 2017 GMC Sierra; and a 2014 Nissan Rogue.

The estimated value of the marijuana seized is $330,000.

Maziar Vesalpour, 32, and Emily Forrieter 27, are charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking.

They’ve been held in custody pending a bail hearing.
