The new school year starts one day later than usual this year and a local school board is making sure students in Oakville, Burlington, Milton and Halton Hills have all the information they need for a successful term.

Halton Catholic District School Board (HCDSB) students in Grades 1-12 will begin the school year on Wednesday, Sept. 6. Parents and guardians of Kindergarten students will receive information about their start date directly from their school.

“The start of a new school year is always an exciting time,” said John Klein, Director of Education.

“We look forward to welcoming our new and returning students, staff, and families. On behalf of our senior team, I extend best wishes to all in our HCDSB community for a successful and rewarding year ahead.”

New to Canada? HCDSB’s Youth Settlement Program offers services for newcomer students including school registration, interpretation, and help with access to community services.

Child Care and Before and After School programs in the HCDSB are operated by non-profit and established community child care operators.

All student bus information, including bus stop times, delays and cancellations, stop location and route numbers, is available on the Halton Student Transportation Services website.
