Changes to Burlington condo plan will see taller building

A deal between the City of Burlington and a builder will see some changes to a proposed high-rise development.

The structure, earmarked for Martha St. just north of Lakeshore Rd., is now destined to be 14 storeys and contain 111 residential units if all approvals are achieved.

The site was previously occupied by houses on lots formerly designated 405, 409, 411, 413, and 417 Martha St.

Other features of the building include a six-storey podium and a four-level underground parking structure with room for 118 vehicle spaces.

The property is surrounded by the Centennial Trail to the north, Rambo Creek to the east, a 12-storey residential apartment building to the south and three-storey townhouse units to the west.

Previously the project was supposed to be 11 storeys with 130 units but certain concerns between the parties prompted the changes.
