If you have this product in your kitchen, it’s best to get rid of it.

Cilento brand Mozzarella di Bufala Campana is being recalled from stores due to possible Listeria monocytogenes contamination, according to the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA).

The recalled product is 200g, has a UPC of 8 16785 02008 5, and has an expiration date of December 15, 2019.

The CFIA warns that food contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes may not look or smell spoiled but can still make you sick with symptoms such as vomiting, nausea, persistent fever, muscle aches, severe headache, and neck stiffness. Pregnant women, the elderly and people with weakened immune systems are particularly at risk.

Consumers are advised to check if they have this product and either throw it out or return it to the store it was purchased from.
