Children with disabilities were the beneficiaries of a partnership among the Town of Milton, ErinoakKids Centre for Treatment and Development, and iCan Shine.

The non-profit iCan Shine collaborates with local organizations to host five-day camps in their communities.

More than 35 children ages 8 and up participated in the iCan Bike program at John Tonelli Sports Centre. All participants had the chance to reach their goal of independent cycling on a conventional two-wheel bicycle using adapted equipment.

“We are committed to providing a variety of recreation programs for all abilities, this includes inclusive and adaptive programs for all ages,” said Steve Palmer, director, Recreation and Culture.

“We are looking forward to fostering these partnerships and continuing to offer these types of programs to our Milton community.”
