A specialty chocolate shop bringing customers all sorts of confectionary delights is permanently closing its doors in Mississauga next week.

Rocky Mountain Chocolate located at 100 City Centre inside of the Square One shopping mall is officially shutting down operations on Wednesday, May 31 2023.

Since the store’s grand opening in 2007, it has been offering a variety of sweet treats made in house.

Whether it be their round chocolate bombs filled with gooey caramel, strawberry and almonds or the “quickies” — mini berries or nuts dipped into chocolate, there is a flavour for every sweet tooth.

The shop also carries ice-cream bars coated in— you’ve guessed it—chocolate with a variety of toppings to choose from including vanilla bean cookie dough, M and M’s, and bubble gum flavour.

If that might be too much of a sugar overload,— a somewhat healthier option on the menu are the caramel apples, which include toppings of all sorts such as coconut, cheese cake, and tiger butter— whatever that is.

Rocky Mountain recently posted a TikTok video which shows clips from their shop with captions explaining their upcoming closure and a chocolatier can be seen rolling the stores last batch of caramel apples.

The store closure video has garnered (so far) 17.5 K views on TikTok —more than any of the other videos on the account combined.

Customers expressed their gratitude in the comments towards the shops service for the last 16 years while many hoped the other locations didn’t follow suit and close.

The store also mentioned that select items will be available at discounted prices prior to their closure.

Customers only have a couple days to stock up on their assorted boxed chocolates for gifts or stash the goodies away for themselves.
