Cold Warning Currently in Effect for Halton

Bundle up, Halton residents — or stay indoors, if you can.

Halton Region has issued a cold warning starting today (Wednesday, February 27) due to very low temperatures expected tonight.

The Cold Warning is in effect until temperatures rise above -15 degrees Celsius (without wind-chill) or weather conditions improve and the risks involved with prolonged exposure are reduced,” the report says.

A low of -16 degrees is expected tonight, according to Environment Canada’s most recent forecast.

Residents should be cautious during cold warnings to minimize risk of cold-related injuries, including frostbite and hypothermia.

On the bright side, today’s major snowfall is also coming to an end this evening.

Stay warm, Halton!
