Halton Region is currently seeking input from the community on the preliminary preferred design for Steeles Avenue in the Town of Milton.

Making road improvements to Steeles Avenue between Tremaine Road and Industrial Drive is necessary to address future travel demand to the year 2031.

The potential improvements are anticipated to include the widening of the road to four lanes, active transportation facilities, a new underpass as part of a Canadian Pacific Rail grade separation, intersection improvements and landscaping and street lighting.

The study is being conducted in accordance with the planning and design process for Schedule C projects as outlined in the Municipal Class Environmental Assessment and the personal information collected will be used to forward additional information to the public about the Steeles Avenue Municipal Class EA when it becomes available.

The region is encouraging its residents to fill out an online survey by May 17.
