Burlington road street construction delays traffic detour

The ongoing construction on a busy Burlington route will affect both vehicle and pedestrian traffic in the weeks ahead.

The work is on the next stage of road improvements on Dundas St. between Appleby Line and Tremaine Rd.

Starting today with an expected completion date of Aug. 31, this stage will see traffic shifted away from the south side of Dundas to provide space for the contractor to work on the eastbound lanes of the road.

A project by Halton Region, the contractor indicates that during this August phase night work may be required to undertake some of the major operations as well as to reduce traffic impact and to keep workers safe.

Once this stage is complete, the sidewalk on the south side of Dundas will be closed and pedestrians will be directed to use the newly constructed multi-use path on the north side of the street.

Construction work on this phase of the project is anticipated to be completed by early fall of 2024.
