It’s not too late for local residents to get their submissions in for the Halton Hills Public Library’s FanFest 2023.

The annual FanFest celebrates the love of fandoms, which are a community of people who share a passion for a piece of media, be it a movie, television series, book series, video game, a band or a performer.

The FanFiction deadline is April 15. FanFiction is the art of writing fiction using characters and settings from another existing work of fiction. These works of fanfiction can center on any kind of media, such as books, television shows, movies, or video games.

You can submit up to two stories, each with a maximum of 3,000 words. Entries should not contain any explicit material and can be submitted as a word document, PDF or JPEG file.

Winners will be chosen for three age categories – Grades 4-8, Grades 9-12 and ages 18 and over.
