Making Halton Hills a bike-friendly community is a goal that organizers of an upcoming forum hope to achieve.

Hosted by the Halton Hills Bike-It group, the forum will provide the opportunity for cycling enthusiasts of all ages to gather and share their ideas.

“This is an opportunity to talk about improving cycling safety, skills training, infrastructure and programs to encourage more cycling for all ages including looking at new opportunities such as pump tracks, trail riding, mountain biking and eBikes.” said Bike-It leader and Town Councillor Jane Fogal. “It’s also an opportunity to see what has been accomplished since the 2019 bike forum and learn about future improvements from the Town’s Infrastructure staff.”

The Community Cycling Forum is a free event. To register your participation or take the survey please visit letstalkhaltonhills.ca.

The event takes place on March 20 from 6:30 to 9 p.m. at the MoldMasters Sportplex in the Alcott Hall.

Bike-It Halton Hills was formed in 2012 to advance the Cycling Master Plan through advocacy and hosting a series of events. The volunteer team works in cooperation with Town staff to engage the community and deliver cycling events. The 2024 list includes:

  • Used bike swap on April 27
  • Bike-It to the Market on June 15
  • Progressive group rides July-Sept. for novice and intermediate cyclists

Information about all of these upcoming events can be found here.
