Driver facing numerous weapons, counterfeit charges after early-morning traffic stop in Oakville

A routine traffic stop in Oakville today has led to a long list of charges against the driver.
Halton police say officers seized a handgun gun and counterfeit cash after the traffic stop on Jan. 3 at around 2:30 a.m. in the area of Dundas St. W. and Proudfoot Trail.
Investigation at the scene determined the driver of the vehicle to a prohibited driver and in breach of a court order. Police also located a handgun and a large quantity of counterfeit currency inside the vehicle.
Bennet Tagoe, 30, of No Fixed Address was arrested and is facing numerous charges related to weapons, counterfeit money and possessing break-in tools.
At the time of his arrest, Tagoe was on a release order with conditions not to possess any weapons. He was held in custody pending a bail hearing in Milton.
