An artistic rendition of how Dundas St. will look in the future.

Dundas St. through parts of Burlington is expected to be fully open by this time next week.

Until then, Dundas will be closed from Sutton St. to Tremaine Rd. from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. every day until April 1.

Local access to neighbourhoods and to businesses will remain open throughout the process. However, through traffic is being detoured along Appleby Line, Derry Rd. and Bronte Rd. and motorists should expect delays when travelling through the area.

Transit users should also expect delays and longer than usual travel times through the affected area. Please visit www.oakvilletransit.ca and www.burlingtontransit.ca for more information.

The work is being carried out by Halton Region through several stages. Once complete, sections of Dundas will be widened to six lanes, will have an on-road bike lane, and will have new bridges.

Once this current stage is completed, more work will begin next year.
